End of the Season

All of the stats are current through our last game of the season. Great strides were taken to improve batting averages and run totals toward the end of our season. We are going to wait until after All Stars are complete to have all of the Rangers and their families over for our End of the Season Party and awards. We are tentatively looking at Saturday, July 11th from 2 - 5pm with a rain date of Sunday, July 12th. Our hope is that everyone will be able to make it and enjoy the afternoon with good food and great friends. If you wouldn't mind bringing along a dish to share, hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided, as well as cupcakes for the kids. RSVP as you know your schedules for that weekend, and we'll plan accordingly.

Thanks again for a great season, and we'll see you Saturday morning at 8:30 for Closing Ceremonies in full uniform with blue shirts.

Game 16 - Rangers (7) Reds (15)

Last game of the season brought all of the young pitchers from the Rangers to the mound...Josh pitched really well, followed by Noah and Kaitlyn who did their job by throwing strikes which allowed the Reds to hit the ball continuously. Kaleb stepped up and closed the game out. We tried to rally in the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded one more time, though we still were unable to drive in any runs. We are so proud of the way our kids played and fought throughout the game even knowing that we were out of position and throwing all of our young players, we continued to fight to make it a real good game.

Game 17 - Rangers (6) Indians (3)

Game two of our double header -- Josh started on the mound, doing a real nice job setting down the Indians in order throughout the first two innings while striking out three batters. Then with a combination of Grant, Jack, and Spencer, we were able to keep the Indians to only three runs, all of which were unearned. Jack started us off with a nice hit to right center for a stand up double which he proceeded to score with Kaleb's drive. Spencer had a nice hit to left field which allowed him to score a double which he turned into a three bagger with an over throw. The biggest surprise was Bruce stepping up and driving the ball in each of the two games for doubles or more at every at-bat. Really nice outcome to a hard fought game, which took eight innings and only 121 pitches from our combined pitchers.

Game 16 - Rangers (6) Indians (1)

Game one of a double header -- Allowing Kaleb to take the mound the first game of the season, striking out five batters and allowing only one run. In the first inning we were able to bat around our order with great hits from Grant, Kaleb, and Josh. Jackson was able to come in and finish the game, striking out six batters, with Spencer taking the final out on the mound with a strike out.

They Did It!!

Finally winning a game in the visitors dug out against the Reds. Grant was superb on the mound by striking out only three batters but allowing our defense to help him out. Spencer and Bruce made back-to-back outs in the outfield -- what an amazing job!

This was a great effort from the kids, to be patient at the plate and to draw 16 walks. Justin again from the bench comes into the game and slaps a nice shot to left center to drive in a run. Spencer lays down another perfect bunt to get a base hit. Bradley sends a great shot up the middle to drive in runs as well. Noah continues his tear at the plate by hitting a nice shot to right field and driving in two runs.

Great job to all of our kids...you guys are incredible!

Game 14 - Rangers (8) Indians (3)

Great game from our young pitchers -- Josh fought hard while throwing 77 pitches and striking out six batters. Jack also struck out five batters, and Noah finished the game while striking out two batters.

Justin led the team coming off of the bench to hit a nice double to left field while driving in two runs. Andrew scored three runs by being patient at the plate for three walks while going 1-2. Great job to our young guns!

Game 13 - Rangers (13) Indians (2)

A normal day at the ball field would have been really nice, but was this the case for our Rangers? Of course not. A team shows up short of players and already has made arrangements for certain players to be at the field in uniform so they can play is crazy to me.. Ughhhh !!@#$#

Not to ruin all the great things that happened in this game, like Grant pitching the whole four innings, striking out nine batters while only allowing one walk. Spencer lays down the perfect bunt for his first hit of the year, scoring all three times he was on base. Great speed! Noah had a great day at the plate going 2-2 and driving in 4 runs. Kaleb also had a great day behind the plate and with the bat, striking the fence hard to start us off in the third inning. Bruce played real nice at first...and he too was hot with the bat.

We are so very proud of our team to fight back and take control of the game in the third inning. It was a really good start to a great long weekend.

Game 12 - Rangers (10) Reds (5)

Goes to show that practice does make a difference in both hitting and playing. After a three hour practice the night before, the kids came out and scored six runs in the first inning while batting through our entire lineup. Great pitching by Jackson, striking out six batters. Bradley excellent at the bat, going 3-4. Kaleb strong behind the plate, throwing out two runners and stroking a ball to the fence to drive in two runs. Grant and Andrew both stayed hot with the bat, driving in crucial runs. The biggest hit of the night came from Kaitlyn, driving in the last two runs of the game to kill the rally the Reds had posted in the previous inning.

Game 11 - Rangers (0) A's (4)

Back-to-Back games with the A's...The same end result not being able to score runs, leaving ten people on base. Top of the first, bases loaded, and only one out yet we still couldn't drive in any runs. Great pitching by Grant and Bradley to hold the hard hitting A's to only four runs -- who were carried by Antonio who drove in all four runs on two homers.

In a game filled with good pitching from Jackson, we lacked infield plays with careless errors that put us behind early in the game. Getting bases loaded in the third and fourth innings and still not able to drive in any runs proved to be an ongoing problem.

Game 9 - Rangers (2) Reds (5)

A game which left a lot of runners on base as well as many strike outs at the plate. Not to mention, a crucial call at the top of the fifth which killed our momentum. Justin and Kaleb's hits drove in the only two runs of the game, while Grant and Bradley pitched extremely well to hold the Reds to only five runs. We need to swing the bat to drive in our base runners, whether it be with walks or hits. Major improvement from our previous game.

Game 8 - Rangers (2) A's (12)

The Rangers played like a group of strangers, while striking out a total of nine times at bat and making careless errors. The bright spots of the game were Bradley's double to right center, Andrew staying hot with the bat, and Justin making a tag out at second. Josh came on and pitched one inning, striking out two batters.

Game 7 - Rangers (18) Indians (5)

We continued our winning streak while holding the Indians hitless in four innings, and allowing them to score five runs on walks. Andrew continues to make big plays in the outfield while swinging a hot bat going 2-3 and driving in two RBI. Justin, Jack, and Noah played a big part on offense by scoring ten runs between them. Josh made his debut in one inning of work, while recording his first major league strike out.

Game 6 - Rangers (6) A's (5)

Having to face the undefeated A's for the third time turned out to be the charm. With the kids fighting all the way to the end and scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the game, they never gave up. Kaleb big again as catcher and throwing out two runners, while Jackson and Bradley held the A's to only five runs from the mound. Everybody was swinging the bat and making contact, whether it be fair or foul. Grant's crucial single to right field getting the sixth inning started, allowed Spencer to pinch run. Bradley's line drive to right center scored the two RBI to win the game. Great job to everybody...let this winning streak continue!

Game 5 - Rangers (15) Reds (4)

With revenge on our minds, we won our home opener 15-4 over the Reds. With Grant struggling through the first inning on the mound, he settled down nicely into the second and third. Kaleb played a crucial role in throwing out two runners stealing second. Bruce debuted at first, and made awesome plays throughout the game. Andrew led the team with the bat, going 2-3 and driving in two runs. Josh played exceptionally well at first base, and also earned his first RBI just the same as Logan did. Jackson led the team with scoring three runs with Grant ending the game with a nice hit to right center, scoring three runs on a triple.

Game 4 - Rangers (9) Reds (10)

In a hard fought game, our team played their best game as of date in a 10-9 loss to the Reds. In the scorching 90+ degree temps, we went through four pitchers to stay in the game. We hit our way to take the lead in the sixth inning, with Kaleb scoring Jackson and Grant, and Bradley then scoring Kaleb to give us a one run lead. Noah in his debut on the mound was put into a tough situation having to face the heart of their order, who had been hot all day. With Noah earning his first two strike outs and while walking three batters, we had two outs and a dribbler to third base which should have been an easy out. However, the number four hitter made us pay for our mistake.

Game 3 - Rangers (24) Indians (1)

Bradley strikes out seven batters, allowing only one walk and throwing only 48 pitches in a 24-1 rout of the Indians. Grant huge with the bat, going 3-3 with 5 RBI. Bruce debuts at SS and completes a 6-3 final out of the inning. Spencer debuts as a closer and gets his first major league strike out to end the game.

Grant's turn to throw a great game, striking out seven on 67 pitches and only walking one batter. Bradley drives in our first run of the season, scoring Noah with a stand up double.

Jackson pitched a great game, striking out eight on 74 pitches while holding the A's to only three runs. The life of Kaleb's bat appears for the first time to the entire league with his first pitch fouling over the fence in left field, and then stroking a stand up double to right center.
